Alternatively, you can probably find a package for version 4 somewhere on the internet. It's possible you can still edit PDFs with it and it will add a watermark.

It used to be free to edit PDFs with, although apparently starting with version 5 this is a paid feature. One I've used with success in the past to edit PDFs is Master PDF Editor: If that doesn't work, it might be best just to uninstall this (see the last line of the script above) and use a different product. There's always a risk of package conflicts when installing things manually.
